APC's Josh VanDyke is back on the clock in our mock draft, making his second pick for the Cleveland Browns. Adding the 19th pick by virtue of their trade with the Buffalo Bills a year ago, Cleveland has a rare opportunity to beef up multiple positions in the teens. Josh already added Danny Shelton to the middle of their defensive line, and he has a chance to pick up a second impact player with this pick.
With many of the top skill position players gone and a run on offensive linemen underway, Josh elects to add bulk once again. With the 19th pick, the Cleveland Browns select...
Ereck Flowers, offensive lineman, Miami (FL)
Weight: 329 pounds
Combine bench press: 37 reps (top performer at OL)
Here's Josh's explanation:
The Browns could use a wide receiver or two in this year’s draft, but with Cooper, Parker, and White all off the board they would be better off taking a versatile lineman like Ereck Flowers, who could project as either a tackle or a guard at the next level.
Flowers displayed excellent quickness and foot speed in his junior year at Miami, but his ability to overpower people as a run mauler have him projected as a high as the sixth overall pick in the draft. His pass protection mechanics could use some work, but his athleticism, power, and general attitude make him an excellent choice at No.19.
