It's a major surprise pick for the Packers at #30 overall.
The Green Bay Packers' card is in with the 30th pick of the 2015 NFL Draft, and they have selected Damarious Randall, defensive back from Arizona State.
This pick is a surprise, as Randall played safety at Arizona State. The pick comes one year after the Packers selected safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix in the first round. Randall has been called by many the "best cover safety" in the draft.
Randall measures in at 5 feet 11 inches and 196 pounds at the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine, and he ran a 4.46-second 40-yard dash.
Expect Randall to at the very least get a look at cornerback, however, a position he played in junior college. He should be able to contribute immediately in the slot, and it appears that the Packers very much intend for Randall to be a cornerback:
Whether Randall can play on the outside will be put to the test in training camp. One thing is for sure - it's a surprise pick based on his position in college. Upon further examination, however, it is starting to make more sense.
