NFL Mock Draft 2015: Washington adds pass rusher Dante Fowler at #5 overall

We think new GM Scot McCloughan will add to Washington's pass rush.

With the fifth pick in the Acme Packing Company mock draft, our Aron Yohannes was on the clock representing Washington. With Brian Orakpo departing in free agency for Tennessee, there is a hole opposite Ryan Kerrigan that needs to be filled. We believe that this pick will address just that.

5th overall: Washington selects Dante Fowler, Jr.

Position: OLB
College: Florida
Measurements: 6' 2-5/8", 261 lbs; 4.60 40

Here's the explanation from Aron Yohannes, who is representing Washington in our mock draft:

I was really surprised that Fowler was still on the board for Washington with Oakland going after Nebraska edge rusher Randy Gregory. Marcus Mariota is tempting here, but this pick is assuming they can’t trade out.

It’s a toss up between Fowler and Vic Beasley here, but I think they’ll add the versatile rusher from Florida to take the job Brian Orakpo once occupied. Adding Fowler to their list of offseason acquisitions -- Terrance Knighton, Stephen Paea and Ricky Jean-Francois are others to name a few -- on top of pairing him with Ryan Kerrigan could greatly improve Washington’s pass rush and give them a great duo. His numbers aren’t always appetizing, but his disruption is there.

So far, here's the board:

1 (TB): Jameis Winston, QB
2 (TEN): Leonard Williams, DT
3 (JAX): Amari Cooper, WR
4 (OAK): Randy Gregory, OLB
5 (WAS): Dante Fowler, Jr., OLB
