It’s about time to get underway with the second day of the 2020 NFL Draft. Green Bay Packers fans have presumably spent the last 18 hours or so processing the team’s move in round one, when the team traded up from 30 to 26 to select quarterback Jordan Love. The trade cost the Packers their fourth-round draft pick, the team’s first selection on Saturday at pick 116.
Thankfully, it did not jeopardize Green Bay’s two day-two selections. The team holds the 30th picks in each of the second and third rounds, putting them at 62 and 94 overall. Unless general manager Brian Gutekunst decides he is comfortable parting with a future draft pick, it is unlikely that the team has enough draft capital remaining on day three to acquire a third pick before the end of round three, so two choices would appear to be the maximum the team can make tonight. However, the Packers do have a fifth-round pick, three sixths, and two sevenths which could come into play if they feel they want to climb the board a bit from 62 or 94 to land a sliding prospect.
Tune in for day two here, and join us in the comments for more discussion of the team’s next selections.
