It has been a quiet day on the trade front for the Green Bay Packers. Brian Gutekunst made his one trade up on Friday, but heading towards the end of round five, he has stood pat with the picks he had entering Saturday. After taking offensive lineman Royce Newman from Ole Miss in round four, the Packers were back up at 173 for the first of two fifth-round picks.

With that selection, the Packers have chosen defensive lineman TeDarrell Slaton from the University of Florida.

The 6-foot-4, 330-pound Slaton was a one-year starter in Gainesville, recording 1.5 sacks and 37 total tackles in 2020. As a reserve in 2019, he posted a pair of sacks. Interestingly, Slaton came to Florida as a guard recruit before moving to the defensive line in college.

Slaton will presumably slot in as a rotational nose tackle to help spell Packers starter Kenny Clark.

Though his size is remarkable, Slaton also moves well with good explosion as you can see above.

The Packers will be up again in a few moments with the 178th selection.
