2018 NFL Combine Monday: Event wraps up with defensive back workouts

Tune in for the final day of workouts in Indy.

NFL: Combine Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

The final day of the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine is here, and with it comes one of the most athletically gifted groups of players in attendance. The defensive backs take the field today, and this batch of cornerbacks and safeties has athleticism to burn.

The Green Bay Packers have expressed interest in several players in this year’s group, with the team’s formal interviews with safety Derwin James from Florida State and cornerback Denzel Ward of Ohio State being confirmed by those players. Both of them are expected to impress in testing today when they take the field.

However, the leader in the clubhouse for the expected fastest 40 time is Donte Jackson of LSU. Jackson had double-digit pass defenses in both his sophomore and junior years and he returned kickoffs part-time in his first two seasons. Also keep an eye out for Colorado’s Isaiah Oliver and Alabama’s Minkah Fitzpatrick in workouts today.

Thanks for following along with us in Indianapolis throughout the past week, and enjoy the final day of testing.
