2019 NFL Combine Results, WRs: Parris Campbell & Miles Boykin show off in workouts

Whether you want a slot or boundary receiver, you can find excellent athletes at all levels of the 2019 Draft class.

NFL: Combine Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Regardless of the type of wide receiver an NFL team is looking for in the 2019 NFL Draft, there should be exciting options available at various levels of the event. In Saturday’s workouts at the 2019 Scouting Combine, the receivers worked out — and showed out — for NFL scouts, with most of the big names living up to the hype.

D.K. Metcalf, for example, followed up his absurd shirtless workout photo with a ridiculous 4.33-second 40-yard dash at 6-foot-3 and 228 pounds. Despite poor results in agility drills, such as a 7.38-second cone time and 4.50 seconds in the short shuttle, Still, his explosiveness was on full display, finishing in second place at the position with a 40.5-inch vertical and in fourth for the broad jump with a 11-foot-2 result.

A few day-two and day-three possibilities also worked out well too, with players jockeying for position to climb higher and higher up the draft boards. Parris Campbell from Ohio State was a big winner, after measuring in a shade under 6-feet and at a solid 205 pounds. Campbell, a great candidate as a slot receiver, tied Andy Isabella of Massachusetts for the fastest 40-yard dash time among receivers at 4.31 seconds, then jumped out of the gym with a 40-inch vertical and 11-foot-3 broad jump. He capped off the day with a position-leading 4.03-second time in the short shuttle, though he did not run the cone drill. Campbell came in as a likely second-day pick, but those results could put him in the conversation for the end of the first round.

Notre Dame’s Miles Boykin is a bigger boundary receiver, who measured in at 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds. However, he ran exceptionally well, with a 4.42-second 40 and a 6.77-second cone time (best at the position) and his 43.5-inch vertical and 11-foot-8 broad jump will impress as well. For teams wanting a third-round flier on an athletic receiver. The question will be production, as Boykin was only a one-year starter for the Fighting Irish.

Here are the full wide receiver workout results from Saturday.
