Packers Practice Report 9/5: Pads On, Full Steam Ahead for San Francisco

The Packers were in full pads at today's practice, which saw no surprises on the injury front.

The Green Bay Packers practiced on Thursday morning, and according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky, all systems are go for the team's season-opening showdown with the San Francisco 49ers. Starting safety Morgan Burnett and linebacker Brad Jones have been full participants all week after missing the last preseason game with hamstring injuries. There thankfully were no surprises on the injury report:

One interesting choice by the coaching staff was to work in full pads leading up to the Niners game:

Presumably, the coaches wanted to simulate game action with the regular season starting and with a tough, physical opponent on deck this weekend. It will be interesting to keep tabs on how Mike McCarthy and company plan out the remaining thirteen padded practices throughout the 2013 season.

As far as we can tell, the Pack is doing everything in their power to prepare themselves for a physical bloodbath in Sunday's game.
