Those of you hoping to see Matt Forte in a Green Bay Packers uniform: I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Forte is not following his former teammate Julius Peppers from Chicago to Green Bay after all, despite the reports of Peppers trying to woo the free agent running back to the Packers. Instead, Forte is reportedly going to be wearing a different shade of green:
Matt Forte is signing with the NY Jets, per source.

The contract terms will be interesting to monitor, as the Packers likely had a certain number in mind as a maximum annual value on the contract. If the deal comes in significantly higher than the $3 million that had been rumored recently, then perhaps the Packers dodged a bullet by missing out on the 30-year old back.
Stay tuned, as we will keep you updated with any other news and reports about Forte's imminent contract, which will likely be made official shortly after the free agency period actually opens at 4:00 PM Eastern.
