Legal tampering is officially here.

As of 12 Noon Eastern on Monday, NFL teams can and have begun to communicate with the agents of players who will be unrestricted free agents in 2018. Starting now, the two sets of parties have 52 hours to start negotiating and working out deals before the 2018 league year begins at 4 PM on Wednesday.

These communications can involve the discussion of contract terms, and although no contracts may formally be agreed upon before that Wednesday deadline, expect to hear about players informally settling on their new destinations between now and then. In addition, it is likely that some players will also re-sign with their previous teams as they start to understand what the market looks like for their services elsewhere.

Here we will keep you apprised of some of the major news, rumors, and reports from around the league during this period, particularly as the Packers are concerned. We will specifically be on the lookout for news about the Packers’ impending free agents as well as possible targets for the team such as free agent cornerbacks.

Keep this page handy as the next few days go along.
