Packers Training Camp 2018: Live news & updates from August 27 practice

The Packers wrap up the open portion of training camp this afternoon.

We have arrived at the final week of 2018 training camp across the NFL, with roster cuts looming on Saturday. This week, the Green Bay Packers conclude their preseason schedule with a game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday evening.

However, the Packers wrap up their open practices for the year on Monday, taking the field for a 12:15 PM practice. Unfortunately, weather conditions have driven practice indoors, meaning that the public will not be able to observe the final open practice of camp. This is the only open practice of the week, as the team had a short week after playing in Oakland late Friday night.

With Aaron Rodgers and the starters likely sitting out on Thursday, expect him and most of the first-string offense to run the scout team today. One of the interesting storylines to watch this week will be the playing time of the Packers’ other three quarterbacks: Brett Hundley, DeShone Kizer, and Tim Boyle. With Hundley and Kizer fighting to back up Rodgers, expect them to each get a half, with Boyle probably receiving little to no playing time on Thursday.

As usual, one of the big takeaways from today’s practice will be the extent to which the team’s injured players participate. Nick Perry and Mike Daniels have both sat out during the team’s three preseason games so far and probably will not play on Thursday, so a full practice from each would be a great sign for their availability in week one. In addition, keep an eye out for new linebacker Antonio Morrison to see what kinds of snaps he takes in his first public practice with the Packers.

Follow along with practice and discuss in the comments below.
