It’s here! Family Night has arrived, and the Green Bay Packers are getting out on the Lambeau Field grass this evening to practice in front of the team’s fans.
A few years ago, this was a true scrimmage, with the coaches dividing up teams and having competitive periods and drills between the two sides. In 2014, then-head coach Mike McCarthy changed the format to being more of a traditional practice, just held under the lights. That change came about in part because of a major injury in 2013 — that year, Bryan Bulaga suffered a torn ACL during the scrimmage and was lost for the year. This summer, Matt LaFleur has chosen to stick with the practice format, so the team will be in pads and going through various drills once they take the field tonight.
The event will be televised on many stations around Wisconsin, so if you cannot attend but are in the viewing area, fear not. Click here for APC’s primer, which lists out the stations that will be airing the event.
And as usual, for those who cannot see practice in person or on TV, keep it locked here as we bring you updates from the curated list of Packers media members who are in attendance and tweeting live from tonight’s event.
Enjoy the evening, and Go Pack Go!
