For the first time in recent memory, another NFL team has come to town to join the Green Bay Packers for practices during training camp. The Houston Texans are in Green Bay, and they will be heading out to Ray Nitschke Field this morning for a 10:15 AM practice with the Packers as the two teams prepare for their preseason game on Thursday evening.
This should be a fun event, as both teams will participate in the Packers’ bicycle tradition to get from the facilities at Lambeau Field out to Ray Nitschke Field. Once at practice, it will be fascinating to see how head coaches Matt LaFleur and Bill O’Brien decide to split up drills.
Since the two teams are in different conferences, they rarely play each other in the regular season, and they are not scheduled to meet again until 2020. That surely helped the two teams make the decision to join up for these two days prior to Thursday’s game.
