Week one of the NFL season is in the books. The takes that came from it were scorching and plentiful.
The NFL’s defensive player of the week was the non-Packer, TJ Watt. With four sacks he was an obvious standout, but Matub sums up the whole ordeal in one simple sentence.
An argument about defensive lines has cropped up recently involving the Vikings and the Packers. Who has the better interior? Most Packer fans will tell you that it’s close due to the dominance of Mike Daniels and Kenny Clark. Most Vikings fans will say that Linval Joseph is a true difference maker and newly acquired Sheldon Richardson will be sure to bounce back. Matub looks at PFF’s grades for all four players and draws a comparison with the Packers’ new linemen, Muhammad Wilkerson.
After a short look at a ridiculous conspiracy theory, Matub goes into last week’s opponent. He lays down his takes about the Bears and where he stands compared to his previous opinions from last week’s video. How good are the Chicago Bears? How good is Mitchell Trubisky? Was Khalil Mack worth it? What should be expected from the Bears moving forward?
Finally, the Minnesota Star Tribune is featured once again on Hottest Take of the Week. They believe that if you have to ask about Aaron Rodgers’ health then he isn’t healthy enough. Matub briefly touches on their point, but mostly brings up shortcomings of the Vikings’ team.
Stay tuned through the end for a special wager. Let us know down in the comments if you agree or disagree with Matub (and also if you’re excited about his bet).
